The Girlfriend Experience

I just watched "The Girlfriend Experience", its a movie, about 5 days in the life of a high end escort in NYC. It is super interesting and I highly recommend it.

I heard alot of hype about this through New York Magazine and Rolling Stone, so I was really intrigued when I found out it was available on demand. (It was under movie and events, drama)

It basically shows what it would be like to be an elite escort in a major metropolitan area.

The character Chelsea is paid to go on dates, go shopping, and given a stipend by several of her clients. On the side she maintains a committed relationship and lives with her boyfriend.

It really shows the ups (lunches at Nobu, Bluehill Bakery, La Perla Lingerie, Marc Jacobs dresses, Manolo pumps) and downs (prostitution, crude men, emotional damages) of being an escort. The character is in her early 20s, and you can see the struggle she faces with this sort of profession. The money, and goods are alluring but there's a lot of dirty work behind it.

The film stars actress Sasha Gray (who is better known for being a porn star)and many no named actors.

It gives an in-depth look into what it was like for Ashley Dupri.

If you're laying around on your couch today (like me), I'd definitely order this one.
