Yesterday, a friend and I walked around Old Town in the afternoon. This is an area of Chicago with a main street thats lined with shops, restaurants, flowershops, bakeries, and bars. It's really cute, and convienently located between the Loop and Lincoln Park (Where I live).

We stopped in at The Spice House, where a grand collection of diverse spices and combinations are sold.

There I sampled the pizza spice combo, a blue cheese spice mix (that according to directiond you just add water and you'll have incredible dressing), I saw saffron for the first time, and tried some crytalized ginger.

This place was really intense. I could not believe how many spices there were and the plethora of combinations. When we walked in we were greated with a STRONG smell of cummin, onion, and garlic. I definetly would love to shop here in the future (when I come back to Chicago to visit) to get some unique bottles of spices.
I had to also include these pictures of the flower shop we stopped in. It was amazing.. think Bed of Roses, minus Christian Slater and Sophie B. Hawkings playing in the background.

Happy Saturday!
